Chiropractic: when is it needed?

When is it needed?

At any age

Anyone can benefit from Chiropractic care. In fact, everyone experiences some level of stress, whether physical, chemical, or emotional. When our nervous system is unable to adapt to these stresses, we develop vertebral subluxations, which over time can lead to various health issues. These stresses occur at all ages.

For the Little Ones

The first major stress occurs during birth, when significant torsions and tractions are often experienced by the spine and skull. Subsequently, infants can develop symptoms such as reflux, colic, irritability, or neck pain. This can lead to major complications like disturbed sleep or difficulty breastfeeding which can interfere with the child’s normal growth and the parents’ peace of mind, who often suffer from lost sleep. Adjustments for babies are very gentle, safe, and at the same time effective.

For Children and Adolescents

During growth it is very important for their bodies to develop harmoniously and correctly. Often, young people are forced to sit at their desks in improper postures, depriving them of movement and adequate neurological stimulation, which are vital for the healthy development of the neuromusculoskeletal system. Additionally, carrying heavy backpacks and engaging in other activities put a strain on their growing bodies. In our Western society, joint pain, hyperactivity, ear infections, irritability, and recurring allergies are becoming increasingly common among adolescents. These can often be symptoms of dysfunctions of the neurological system that can be helped by chiropractic care. Our children are like young saplings that will blossom and open to life. Let’s help them grow straight and strong.

For the Elderly

Throughout our lives, we accumulate various chemical and psychophysical stresses that affect our structure, causing aches and pains. For many, these symptoms can make the normal activities of daily life unbearable. It doesn’t have to be that way. Chiropractic care can alleviate your pain and improve your functionality. Consequently, this will have a positive effect on your mobility and thus your independence. When you are more mobile, you are consequently more active and happier. All these factors have a positive effect on brain function and can slow down physical and mental degenerative processes such as senile dementia and Alzheimer’s.

For Women During and After Pregnancy

During pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes significant changes in many aspects: hormonal, emotional, and physical. Ligaments become increasingly loose, especially in the pelvic area, to adapt to the new requirements of carrying and delivering a baby. The center of gravity shifts forward as the baby grows, the pelvis tilts anteriorly, causing tension and shortening of the lower back muscles, while the hamstrings and glutes weaken. The lumbar and cervical curves increase, and the round ligaments attached to the uterus are stretched and stressed. This destabilizes the structure, and with the progressive increase in weight in the womb, leads to the development of many problems including postural dysfunctions, discomfort or back pain, sciatica, and headaches. By helping to correct posture and functionality, chiropractic care can alleviate not only the discomforts during pregnancy but also prepare and assist the expectant mother for childbirth. Many of my patients have reported having a smoother and more serene childbirth and a quicker recovery from pregnancy.

For Athletes

Integrating chiropractic care into the sports sector has the potential to significantly impact various aspects of athletic performance, health, and competitiveness. By addressing biomechanical imbalances and optimizing neuromuscular function, chiropractic care can enhance athletes’ performance, resulting in increased competitiveness at local, national, and international levels. Furthermore, the preventive and rehabilitative nature of chiropractic interventions can help reduce the injury rate and improve long-term health among athletes, thus promoting career longevity and a better quality of life after retirement.

Chiropractic care is increasingly used in the sports field. Athletes from various disciplines and of worldwide fame, such as Usain Bolt, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, Evander Holyfield, Michael Jordan, Debora Compagnoni, and many Serie A soccer teams, use chiropractic care regularly. Some athletes, to optimize their performance, get adjusted by their chiropractor before every sporting event because they know they will be able to perform at the peak of their abilities.

I had suffered from back pain for a long time. After trying some therapy (massages, physiotherapy / ultrasounds), I turned to Chiropractic and solved my problem. Now I receive periodic treatments.
