Doctor of chiropractic and kinesiology

Massimo Colleoni

Since when I was a child I have been fascinated by the Healing Arts. This probably happened because from an early age I had to face health problems that not only exposed me to allopathic medicine but also to various types of complementary therapies that my mother used when the main stream approaches would fail to help me.

After finishing my training as an industrial chemist in Italy I worked for the Mario Negri Institute in cancer research and then as an industrial chemist for 3 years.

In those years I realised that that wasn’t the life I wanted. I aspired to broader my horizons and have more fulfilling experiences that would allow me to work internationally and in the medical field. I therefore decided to leave for England.

Chiropractic discovery

Arrived in England while I was working I studied English and specialized in Anatomy, Physiology, Swedish, sport and Thai massage. After 2 years one historical day for me somebody talked to me about Chiropractic and its role in creating an equilibrium in the muscular-skeletal and nervous system through spinal adjustments. Up until that moment I didn’t know what having a vocation or being inspired meant. I discovered it that day. I instantaneously innately understood that it was what I had been looking for and the following month I enrolled at a University of Chiropractic. I carried on living in the UK for about 20 years where I have completed my BSc (Bachelor of Science) in Chiropractic at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic, and My MSc (Master of Science) at the AECC (Anglo European College of Chiropractic) in Bournemouth. I have undertaken further studies in Applied Kinesiology, a technique for the diagnosis and treatment of the patient which considers our health as the result of the interactions of the biomechanical, metabolic and emotional aspects.
During my studying and working career I have nurtured a strong interest in Chiropractic pediatrics, pre and post-natal chiropractic treatments and in the field of neurology and functional neurology attending many courses held by leading experts Chiropractors neurologist.

Professional career

In 2016, after deciding to work in Italy to be closer to my family, I worked in Monza and then focused my work in my hometown, Bergamo. Now, I am self-employed, collaborating at the renowned Salus Chiropractic Center in Bergamo, at Dr. Zois’s office in San Paolo d’Argon (BG), and at the Medical House in Ispra (VA). I am also maintaining my support for my patients in England that I am seeing regularly.

I had spent many months after my pregnancy with back pain and pubalgia. After hearing the opinions of several doctors and trying to solve my problem with physiotherapy, osteopathy and anti-inflammatory drugs to no avail, I turned to Dr Colleoni as a last hope since a friend of mine had benefited from his treatments for a back problem. After the first phase of treatment lasting 6 sessions, I was much better. My problem was then solved in the second phase of treatment where Dr Colleoni helped me with further treatments and gave me exercises specific to my case.
